48-Hour Film Challenge

K-State’s Annual 48-Hour Film Challenge is back!

This competition puts teams against eachother to write, shoot and edit a short film, all in only 48 hours. The kick-off event is March 27, 2026, at 5 p.m. in Hale Library Room 181, where teams will receive their packets and the three required elements to include in their short films. 

Following the production of their films, a panel of judges will evaluate each entry. Awards including first, second and third place, along with the Audience Choice Award, will be presented during the Red Carpet Premiere Screening Friday, April 3, at 6 p.m. in the Wildcat Chamber at the K-State Student Union with popcorn and beverages for guests.
