Department: Student Programs and Involvement
Summary: Responsible for supporting the department with administrative and/or project-based tasks while gaining valuable hands-on experience. Assist with the university program Cat Trax, that guides students in making the most of their college experience.
Position Details: Student position
Supervisory Responsibility: No
Work Schedule: Not to exceed 20 hours/week when school is in session.
Pay Range: $9.25/hr
Supervised By: Coordinator/Student Leadership and Engagement

Key Functions:
• Program Facilitation: Help develop and facilitate Cat Trax programming and administration.
• Answer phones: Handle incoming calls, direct caller to the appropriate person, or take messages.
• Greet Visitors: Welcome guests in a professional and friendly manner.
• Schedule Appointments: Manage department calendar and update schedules.
• Manage Correspondence: Sort, distribute, and send mail or email correspondence.
• Filing and Data Entry: Organize documents, maintain records, and enter data into computer systems.
• Manage Office Supplies: Track inventory and order supplies when necessary.
• Assist Visitors: Provide information about the organization, services, and facilities.
• Resolve Inquiries: Address customer questions and concerns in person, over the phone, or via email.
• Maintain Office Area: Ensure the reception area is tidy and presentable.
• Assist Staff: Provide support to other employees with administrative needs.
• Event Support: Assist with event coordination, if applicable.
• Other duties as assigned and instructed.
Qualification Requirements:
• Be at least 16 years of age
• Current enrollment at Kansas State University
• Non-university student: Current enrollment in high school or an accredited college or university
• Enrolled in no fewer than six credit hours
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
• Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Organizational and time management skills
Skills and Abilities:
SKILLS AND ABILITIES/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Work in a general office environment. Remain seated/stand 75% of shift. Finger dexterity/movement for typing, picking up small objects and utilizing varying office equipment. Sight to view computer, documents, and general office machinery. Verbal and written communication to present, convey and exchange information and ideas accurately and quickly.
