Esports Coordinator
Summary: Responsible for overseeing esports daily operations, supporting tournaments and events, maintaining gaming equipment, promoting programs, and providing exceptional customer service. This position serves as a student ambassador for the Esports Arena, fostering an engaging and inclusive gaming community.

Supervisory Responsability: No
Work Schedule: Not to exceed 30 hours/week when school is in session. International students’ schedules not to exceed 20 hours/week when school is in session.
Pay Rate: $11.60/hour
Supervised By: Manager/Bowling Center

Key Functions:
Leadership & Esports Operations
- Serve as the primary student leader for daily esports operations.
- Open, inspect, prepare, and secure the esports arena.
- Provide exceptional guest service and enforce Union policies.
- Assist guests with gaming accounts, peripherals, and basic troubleshooting.
- Support reservations, practices, tournaments, leagues, and special events.
Technology & Equipment Management
- Inspect, clean, and maintain gaming PCs, consoles, monitors, controllers, headsets, keyboards, and peripherals.
- Coordinate software updates and report hardware/network issues.
- Maintain equipment inventory and ensure tournament readiness.
- Promote proper use and care of university and/or Union-owned equipment.
Programming, Events & Community Engagement
- Assist with planning and executing tournaments, leagues, themed events, and campus programming.
- Support livestreams, tournament brackets, scoring, and event logistics.
- Collaborate with Creative Services to create promotional content and increase participation.
- Build positive relationships with guests, student organizations, and campus partners.
Cross-Functional Operations
- Perform Guest Service Attendant responsibilities as needed.
- Operate point-of-sale systems and process transactions accurately.
- Support bowling, arcade, billiards, snack bar, and facility operations.
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and opening/closing checklists throughout the bowling and esports areas.
Qualification Requirements:
- Be at least 16 years of age
- Enrolled in no fewer than six credit hours
- Organizational and time management skills
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and special events
- Passion for esports and gaming communities
- Experience with PC and console gaming platforms
- Knowledge of Steam, Riot, Battle.net, Epic Games, Discord, OBS, or tournament software
Skills and Abilities:
Remain in a stationary position for extended periods. Ability to move throughout the work area. Ability to communicate effectively in person, by telephone, and through electronic communication. Ability to visually inspect gaming equipment, monitors, and facilities and accurately read digital displays and printed materials. Occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull equipment, gaming peripherals, chairs, tables, or supplies weighing up to 40 pounds unassisted. Ability to set up, tear down, and rearrange gaming stations, tournament equipment, and event space as needed. There are no hazardous or significantly unpleasant physical conditions.
