Summary: Responsible for supporting Union operations by maintaining clean, safe, and welcoming spaces, assisting with event setups and facility needs, and providing friendly customer service to students, staff, faculty, and visitors.

Supervisory Responsability: No
Work Schedule: Not to exceed 30 hours/week when school is in session. International students’ schedules not to exceed 20 hours/week when school is in session.
Pay Rate: $10.15/hour
Supervised By: Operations Team Lead

Key Functions:
- Set up, arrange, and take down tables, chairs, and other equipment for events and daily Union
operations. - Clean and maintain event spaces, common areas, restrooms, and other assigned areas.
- Monitor assigned areas throughout the shift and address cleanliness or setup needs.
- Collect and dispose of trash and maintain clean, organized custodial areas.
- Safely use cleaning equipment and chemicals according to established procedures.
- Report maintenance, repair, safety, or facility concerns to the appropriate staff.
- Assist with moving furniture and equipment as needed.
- Greet and assist students, faculty, staff, and visitors by providing information, directions, and general
customer service. - Communicate effectively with team members and coordinate tasks with other Union departments.
- Perform other operational, custodial, and customer service duties as assigned.
Qualification Requirements:
- Be at least 16 years of age
- Current enrollment at Kansas State University
- Non-university student: Current enrollment in high school or an accredited college or university.
- Enrolled in no fewer than six credit hours
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
Skills and Abilities:
Work is performed in a public building environment. Frequently standing for extended periods, with the ability to alternate between standing, and walking throughout the shift. Ability to conduct facility rounds, assist guests, and support building operations and events. Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, pull, and climb stairs while performing assigned duties. Frequently use hands and fingers to operate equipment. Ability to read computer screens, printed materials, room diagrams, event schedules, and facility signage. Hearing and verbal communication to communicate in person, by telephone, and by two-way radio. Lift, carry, push, and move materials, equipment, and supplies weighing up to 40 pounds. Work will include evenings, weekends, and special events based on operational needs. Work is performed in a climatecontrolled environment with no hazardous or significantly unpleasant physical conditions.
