Position Title: Shift Coordinator/Retail Services

Department: Retail Services

Summary of Position: Responsible for assisting with the facilitation of daily operations of the Union’s Chick-fil-A (CFA) quick service restaurant in support of the Union’s mission and vision. This position is responsible for compliance with company standards in all areas of operations, including production, preparation, customer relations, inventory management, ordering, generating reports, and assisting with scheduling.

Status: Part-time

Supervisory Responsibility: No

Work Schedule: Variable Schedule | Operating Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m.; Saturday, 10:30 a.m.–2:00 p.m.

Pay Range: $15.50/hour

Key Functions: 

Assist management to ensure CFA operations comply with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA),
Kansas Department of Agriculture (KDA) regulations, and CFA corporate policies and procedures. Ensure
a clean and safe work environment in accordance with established health and safety standards. Monitor
food quality. Ensure food service standards are met. Follow up on audit and inspection findings;
implement necessary changes as directed. Serve as operational authority in the absence of manager and
assistant manager.
Assist management to ensure employees provide customers with efficient, friendly, superior service.
Report any customer dissatisfaction with food and/or service. Maintain high-quality, consistent product
standards. Assist with cash management functions to include POS systems.
Maintain knowledge of CFA procedures. Assist management in training and holding team members
accountable, as directed. Lead by example when performing duties. As necessary, assist with the
development of employee work schedules. Perform other duties as assigned and instructed.

Qualification Requirements:

Education - Minimum
• No educational requirement.
Education – Preferred
• High school diploma (or equivalent).
• Current ServSafe certification.
Experience – Minimum Demonstrated
• Two months of customer-centric service;
• Two months of food service industry experience;
• Verbal and written communication skills;
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
Experience – Preferred Demonstrated
• One year or more of food service experience.
• Knowledge and experience with federal and state food handling and storage laws and regulations.
• Experience with web-based communications (ie. Teams, et al.).

Skills and Abilities

Obtain ServSafe certification within first 6 months of hire. Ability to move throughout facility. Full range
of physical motion (ie. bend, stoop, reach, grasp) to operate and manipulate unit equipment and
inventory. Sight and ability to read printed material, operate POS system, and count money with or
without vision aids. Verbal and written communication to present, convey and exchange information and
ideas accurately and quickly. Physical agility to lift, carry, and/or pull up to 30 pounds. Hearing for average
or normal conversations and to receive information. Ability to safely operate and clean slicers, fryers, grill.
