Student Specialist - Social Media/Marketing
Pay Rate: $9.50/hour
Application Requirements: Sample of work/portfolio, Union application, three references
Key Functions:
• Utilize social media marketing tools to create, promote, and maintain the Union’s brand.
• Assist supervisor with strategic scheduling of social media posts and interactions as well as maintain media accounts and posting content.
• Research and report social media trends and changes relevant to marketing activities.
• Assist with creation/modification of Union style guides pertaining to content platforms and presence.
• Gather social media analytics and create quarterly reports for review.
• Provide customer-centric service at all times.
• Other duties/tasks as assigned.
Qualification Requirements:
• Be at least 16 years of age
• Current enrollment at Kansas State University
Non-university student: Current enrollment in high school or an accredited college or university
• Enrolled in no fewer than six credit hours
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
• Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Organizational and time management skills
Preferred Knowledge and Experience:
• Adobe Creative Suite
• Managing social media content for organizations/businesses
• Social media publishing platforms such as, but not limited to Sprout, Hootsuite, Later, etc.
Skills and Abilities:
• Work in a general office environment.
• Remain seated/stand 75% of shift.
• Finger dexterity/movement for typing, picking up small objects and utilizing varying office equipment.
• Sight to view computer, documents, and general office machinery.
• Possess verbal and written communication skills to present, convey, and exchange information and ideas.
• Provide customer-centric service at all times.
• Other duties/tasks as assigned.
