Student Specialist - Photography, Videography and Web/Marketing
Department: Marketing
Summary: Responsible for supporting the department with administrative and/or project-based tasks while gaining valuable hands-on experience
Position Details: Part-time student position; Non-exempt
Work Schedule: Not to exceed 30 hours/week when school is in session. International students’ schedules not to exceed 20 hours/week when school is in session.
Pay Rate: $9.75/hour
Supervised By: Specialist I/Communications

Key Functions:
• Collaborate to create, capture, edit, and publish engaging and creative photos and/or video content for Union facilities, programs, services, and special events.
• Write, edit, and update website content.
• Use standard and specialized photography and videography equipment to ensure quality standards.
• Assist with event/program photography and videography.
• Develop and maintain a robust photo and video library of printed and digital content. This includes efficiently organizing and archiving photo and video files.
• Maintain photography, video, and computer equipment and supplies.
Qualification Requirements:
• Be at least 16 years of age
• Current enrollment at Kansas State University
Non-university student: Current enrollment in high school or an accredited college or university
• Enrolled in no fewer than six credit hours
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
• Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Organizational and time management skills
Preferred Knowledge and Experience:
• Proficiency in standard image and editing software, such as Lightroom, Adobe Premiere Pro., Illustrator, and Photoshop.
Skills and Abilities/Physical Demands:
• Work in a general office environment.
• Remain seated/stand 75% of shift.
• Finger dexterity/movement for typing, picking up small objects and utilizing varying office equipment.
• Sight to view computer, documents, and general office machinery.
• Possess verbal and written communication skills to present, convey, and exchange information and ideas quickly.
