SafeRide

SafeRide, operated by Lyft, provides students on the Manhattan campus with free or discounted late-night rides!

  • 10pm-3am, Thursday through Saturday
  • Two $7 monthly vouchers
  • Standard Rides only
  • Rides must start and end within Manhattan city limits

Setting up your Lyft account

  • Check your K-State email for an invitation from no-reply@business.lyftmail.com 
  • Accept the invitation by clicking the link in that email  
  • Download the Lyft app from the app store on your mobile device
  • Log in or create an account with your @k-state.edu email and password
    • Do NOT use @ksu.edu 
  • SafeRide vouchers will automatically be uploaded to your account Lyft Logo

FAQ's

Why are my Lyft passes not showing up?

SafeRide discounts are automatically applied during program hours (10pm-3am, Thursday through Saturday). If you are trying to order a ride outside of this window, SafeRide discounts will not appear. 

You may also be logged into the Lyft app using a personal email account. To use SafeRide, open the Lyft app, click the person icon, select Settings, and change your email to your @k-state.edu email address. 

How do I see if I have any remaining Lyft passes?

Navigate to the Lyft app, click on the person icon at the bottom right, and then click “Payment”. Any remaining SafeRide vouchers will be listed there.

Who can use SafeRide?

Any student on the Manhattan campus enrolled in at least 3 credit hours and paying the Student Services Fee is eligible to use SafeRide.

I can’t find my original invite...Can I get another one?

Yes, email saferide@k-state.edu to request another invite to the program!
