Bernard J. Pitts (1995 - 2011)

As the Union Exectuive Director, Pitts provided the oversight for the 1998-2000 student referendum enhancement and renovation project. The project created a user-friendly new look, feel, and contemporary design to the Union. Program venues and conference/meeting spaces were refreshed, as well as major infrastructure ugrades, modernized restrooms, and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) improvements. 

As the Assistant Vice President of Student Life, Pitts provided support to the KSU Center for Child Development and the KSU Recreational Services. Both entities have had or are currently going through new and renovation building construction. 

Pitts served two terms on the Executive Committee of the Association of College Unions-Internation (ACUI) and was President from 1996-97. He was recognized for his service to the College Union Ideal in 2005 as the recipient of the highest honor given by the ACUI, the prestigious Butts-Whiting Award.
