Artist Reception for SirIsreal Azariah King

A reception honoring SirIsreal Azariah King and his art will be from 4-6 pm, Thursday, Feb. 15 in the William T. Kemper Art Gallery in the K-State Student Union. All are welcome to meet the artist and enjoy refreshments

King is an artist whose work revolves around black families, black love and black beauty. Using bright colors as a reflection of his emotional state, he employs a mixture of techniques and mediums in his artwork. Receiving numerous awards and acknowledgements, King's mix of inspiration and emotion has proven his impact with showcases in Washington DC, the St. Louis Art Museum and Fort Sam Houston.

The exhibit, “Spectrum of Black Beauty,” will be on display in the gallery until Friday, March 1, 2024.
