28th annual OPUS Band Competition
Union Program Council (UPC) is hosting the 28th annual OPUS Band Competition featuring a lineup of seven musical talents competing for cash prizes Friday.
The competition starts at 5:30 p.m. Friday on Bosco Student Plaza. The bands will be competing for a third place prize of $100, a second place prize of $150 and the grand prize of $200 and two hours of free recording time at Chapman Recording Studios in Kansas City. The competition is a diverse set, with everything from rock to rap, featuring The Whooligans, Waxeye, Faux Forte, Whyte Lyte, Vik G Trio, Parallel Paths and Jade Archetype. UPC After Hours will be hosting comedian and magician Michael Kent after the competition at 10:30 p.m. in Forum Hall.
