Kansas State University offers many unique and exciting registered student organizations that any student can join. Students can check out organizations, opportunities and more at the Activities Carnival, a part of Week of Welcome, from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 29 at the Union and on Bosco Student Plaza.
Here are just a few of the 500+ student organizations that K-State offers:
1. The Concrete Canoe Team
One of the university's most famous engineering projects, it’s exactly as it sounds. Each team builds a canoe out of concrete that can float and teams compete to see whose canoe is the fastest.
2. Rock Climbing Club
Did you know the Chester E. Peters Rec Complex has a rock climbing wall? It also has a club for it! The Rock Climbing Club offers opportunities to improve your climbing skills and compete against other universities.
3. Astronomy Club
If you like stargazing or just love space, this club might be for you. The Astronomy Club offers an opportunity to meet people who share your interest, talk about cosmic events or simply stargaze.
4. Wildcat Paintball Club at Kansas State University
Need to let out the stress of all your classes? The Wildcat Paintball Club at K-State offers a fun solution. Get involved with the sport and compete either recreationally or on a national level. You never know unless you try it!
5. Combat Robotics
Want to battle robots in a gladiator-style way? The Combat Robotics team works together to build fighting robots to compete on both a regional and national level.
6. Skydive at Kansas State
Did you know you can skydive at K-State? This organization has its own plane for skydiving, offers training for anyone that is interested and you could skydive almost any weekend!
7. Union Program Council
Events on campus don’t just happen - many of them are planned by the Union Program Council (UPC). If you have what it takes, join the creative force that brings the action and excitement to K-State!
8. Esports Club at Kansas State University
Gamers unite! This is a club that offers a community of competitive and casual gaming, and an opportunity to earn scholarships from gaming tournaments. They compete with various games, including Overwatch, CSGO, League of Legends, Super Smash Bros and more!
Clubs like these and many more will be at the Activities Carnival for interested students to join or learn more about.
