Spectrum of Black Beauty Art Exhibit

A painting of a woman that is multiple colors

SirIsreal Azariah King is an artist whose work revolves around black families, black love, and black beauty. Using bright colors as a reflection of his emotional state, King employs a mixture of techniques and mediums in his artwork.

King’s exhibit “Spectrum of Black Beauty” will be on display in the William T. Kemper Art Gallery in the K-State Student Union until Friday, March 1, 2024.

His artistic journey has been “characterized by a long-standing obsession and insatiable desire to create and improve”. Finding inspiration through other art forms, such as poetry, music, dance, and photography, King’s goal as an artist is to “evoke awe, make hearts jump for joy or break with grief” at the sight of his art.
