Union Announces Campus Food Truck Process

The K-State Student Union, in partnership with Kansas State University Facilities and Parking Service administrators, is thrilled to introduce a new process to host food trucks as a catering option on campus. Get ready to enjoy delicious meals served by these mobile culinary delights.

The Union and the university prioritize the success of events that utilize food trucks. Comprehensive protocols have been created to ensure safety, organization, financial compliance and service standards. All food trucks operating on campus must be approved via the required process to guarantee a seamless and enjoyable experience for all attendees.

Campus groups, organizations or departments interested in sponsoring an event using the services of a food truck must follow the established protocols and guidelines to ensure a smooth and easy process.

Requirements:

  • All food trucks operating on campus must be approved, authorized and under contract with the university.
  • All food truck events must be approved by university facilities.
  • All locations for food truck operations must be approved by facilities and parking services.
  • All sponsored food trucks must adhere to university guidelines.

Steps to Follow:

  • Step One: Complete the information form providing details of the event.
    • Submission of the form will be automatically forwarded to the Union Director’s Office, University Facilities and Parking Services.
  • Step Two: Contact University Facilities for location reservations and approval.
    • Complete and submit the online form to facilities.
  • Step Three: The sponsor will procure the services of the approved food truck(s) of their choice.
    • Contact the food truck(s) and negotiate the services provided.
    • Comply with university procurement and purchasing procedures.
