William "Bill" Muir Room (224)

Room 224 | Event Spaces | K-State Union | Manhattan, Kansas

Part of the 1970 addition to the Union, the Muir Room, originally called the Council Chambers, served as the host location for Interfraternity Council. Dedicated by the men of IFC to Tiny Foltz

Between 2003-2015 the room was renamed Greek Affairs and was home to professional student life staff. The room was renamed Union 224 and repurposed into a meeting room during the 2015-2017 Union renovation. In 2018, the space became a temporary home to university staff after the Hale Library fire.

In recognition of a generous planned gift by Assistant Vice President Emeritus William “Bill” Muir III the Union renamed room 224 to the William “Bill” Muir Room in 2023.

Completely renovated and updated, the room contains collaborative equipment for groups and organizations to utilize during a brainstorming session. Ideal for small meetings or conference breakout space, the room is available for reservations.
